AHA and ATS Publish Guidelines on Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension

In a joint effort from the American Heart Association and American Thoracic Society, a panel of experienced clinicians and clinician-scientists assembled to review the current literature and make recommendations on the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of pediatric pulmonary hypertension. The guidelines appear in the Nov. 3 issue of Circulation. Included are recommendations on genetics testing, newborns with PH, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, pharmacotherapy, idiopathic PAH, pediatric heart disease, PH crises and acute RV failure, lung diseases, hypobaric hypoxia, systemic disease, and outpatient care.
