Symposium to explore future directions for research and treatment

To help set priorities for future research into fibrotic diseases and their treatments, the American Thoracic Society hosted the first “Fibrosis Across Organ Systems” symposium March 8–11 in Denver. More than 60 physicians, academic experts, and patient advocates from such groups as the Hermansky Pudlak Syndrome Network, Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis, and Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation discussed fibrotic diseases of the lung, liver, kidney, heart, and skin.
