Leland Fan, MD, and Greg Cosgrove, MD, were honored with 2012 William J. Martin, II Distinguished Achievement and PAR Excellence awards, respectively, during the ATS Public Advisory Roundtable Symposium at ATS 2012. “In my career, I have been blessed to care for many wonderful children with rare lung diseases, and I am inspired by their courage and optimism in the face of adversity,” Dr. Fan says. “I have developed close and personal friendships with their respective leaders, Greg Porta and Jack Kelly, who both lost children to rare and devastating pulmonary disorders. Whatever I have done in my career pales in comparison to the tireless efforts of these outstanding individuals in their quest to find a cure for these diseases.”
Dr. Cosgrove is an associate professor at the National Jewish Health and University of Colorado Denver and assistant director of the Interstitial Lung Disease Program. He joined the ILD Program at National Jewish Health in 2002 after completing his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of Colorado Denver.
