2nd Annual MECOR Course Held in Vietnam

On January 9-14, 2012 the ATS, the University of Sydney, Australian Respiratory Council, the National Tuberculosis Program of Vietnam and the US Agency for International Development jointly sponsored the 2nd annual Methods in Epidemiology, Clinical and Operations Research (MECOR) course in Can Tho, Vietnam.

This year, the program drew participants from Vietnam and Cambodia and was nicknamed, “Mekong MECOR” in recognition of common feature among the students. Course faculty came from Vietnam, Australia, and North America.

Students in the level-one course were introduced to clinical research methods, while those in the more advanced level-two course learned how to design a study and plan a research project. Next year all three levels of the MECOR program will be offered in the early January program.
