Joint Guidelines Address Evaluation of Pulmonary Embolism in Pregnant Women

The ATS and the Society of Thoracic Radiology (STR) have released new guidelines for the evaluation of suspected pulmonary embolism (PE) in pregnancy. The official clinical guidelines were prepared by an ad hoc committee of the ATS/STR Committee on Pulmonary Embolism in Pregnancy, and were developed to aid physicians in determining which diagnostic aids to use when confronted with a pregnant patient with suspected PE.
