Who Will Win the ATS Assembly ChallengeNot Who You Think…

This year’s ATS Assembly Challenge has a new urgency.  The pandemic has profoundly disrupted respiratory research; unable to move forward, many scientists are leaving the field.

We can’t let our profession’s research capability stagnate.  Too many people are counting on us -- not just the next generation of researchers, but the one billion people who suffer from chronic respiratory conditions worldwide.

That is the real Assembly Challenge.

More than ever, the solution lies in grassroots giving by ATS members.  This year, make every Tuesday a Giving Tuesday, so your gift can combine with so many others.  Together let’s help young researchers hone their talents, achieve early results, earn greater funding and launch lifelong careers.

Yes, the Assembly Challenge continues as a giving competition; ATS will recognize the winning Assemblies.  But the real winners will be young researchers…and the millions of patients who will breathe easier because of their work.

You’ve joined the organization.  Now join the movement.

New Trial Listed on ATS Clinical Trial Resources Site

A new currently recruiting trial was listed on the ATS Clinical Trial Resources page. The goal of this page is to connect the ATS community to current, ongoing clinical trials in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine being conducted by participating pharmaceutical and device companies.

SPRINTER (Synairgen) is a phase 3 trial to confirm that SNG001 can accelerate the recovery of patients with confirmed Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) who are hospitalized and receiving oxygen.

Please visit the ATS Clinical Trial Resources page to learn more about these trials or contact Dayna Howell for additional information.
