House of Representatives Provides Increase in VA Research Funding

May 2014

This week the House of Representatives passed its version of the FY15 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs bill that provides funding for the VA health system. The House-passed bill provides $588.9 million for the VA research program, an increase of $3 million over FY14 funding.

The Senate is expected to take up its version of the Military Construction/Veterans Affairs bill later in May. The American Thoracic Society supports $611 million for the VA research program and will encourage the Senate to provide increased funding in the Senate bill.
