New AHRQ Director Appointed

This week, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that Gopal Khanna will become the Agency for Health Research and Quality's (AHRQ) new director. Mr. Khanna specializes in data-driven strategies to advance organizational performance. He was previously director of Illinois' State Data Analytics Healthcare and Human Services Innovation Incubator. Prior to this position, he was the state of Minnesota's first chief information officer between 2005 and 2010. His federal government services includes serving as chief financial officer of the Peace Corps, as well as CFO of George W. Bush's Executive Office. The AHRQ's mission is to develop and promote the evidence base, through health services research, for safe, high-quality, affordable, and accessible health care.
