NY and NJ Senators Introduce Bill Requiring Sleep Apnea Screening/Treatment for Transportation Workers

September 2017

This week, New York Senators Charles Schumer (D) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D) and New Jersey Senators Cory Booker (D) and Bob Menendez (D) introduced legislation to require screening and treatment for sleep apnea for train operators and truck drivers. The legislation was introduced in response to a decision by the Trump Administration to rescind a regulatory proposal developed during the Obama Administration that would have required screening and treatment for train operators and truck drivers.
