AHRQ Drafts Research Plan for Tobacco Smoking Cessation in Adults, Including Pregnant Women

This week, the Agency for Health Quality and Research released a draft research plan for tobacco cessation in adults.  The plan focuses on three main questions, focusing on adults, including pregnant women, who currently use tobacco:

  1. Do tobacco cessation interventions improve mortality, morbidity, and other health outcomes?
  2. Do tobacco cessation interventions achieve tobacco abstinence?
  3. What harms are associated with tobacco cessation interventions?

AHRQ is seeking public input on the draft research plan by April 11, 2018.  To review the plan and submit comments, please visit:
