EPA Extends Comment Deadline on Clean Power Plan Repeal Proposals, Holds Additional Hearings

The EPA announced that it was expending the public comment period on the proposed repeal of the Clean Power Plan to April 26. The EPA also announced that it will hold three additional hearings to solicit public input on the proposal to repeal the Clean Power Plan.  The additional hearings will be held:

Kansas City Listening Session

Date: Wednesday, Feb. 21 

Time: 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., CT

San Francisco Listening Session

Date: Wednesday, Feb. 28

Time: 8:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., PT

Gillette Listening Session 

Date: Tuesday, March 27

Time: 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., MT

The Clean Power Plan was issued by the EPA during the Obama Administration and was intended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from U.S. power plants. The Trump Administration believes the Clean Power Plan exceeded EPA’s authority under the Clean Air Act and has proposed to repeal the Clean Power Plan.
