FDA Schedules Sessions to Collect Public Input on Menthol Cigarette and Flavored Cigar Rule

This week, FDA posted the signup link for the public to provide comments on FDA’s proposed rule to ban menthol cigarettes and a separate rule to ban flavored cigars. The public sessions are open to all members of the public and ATS members are urged register to speak in support of the FDA proposed rules to ban menthol cigarettes and flavor cigars. The sessions are scheduled for Monday June 13 and Wednesday June and will be held virtually.

ATS members can register to speak the sessions by clicking here. The deadline for signing up is Monday June 6th.

Comments are limited to 5 minutes or less and the time limit will be strictly enforced.

Speaking slots are limited and will be distributed on first come first serve basis. We expect the tobacco industry and those opposed to the proposed rules to flood the registration process immediately. It is incredibly important that FDA also hears the strong and wide support there is from our communities to finalize and implement these lifesaving rules as swiftly as possible.
