ATS Urges EPA to Issue More Protective Standards for Mercury-and-Air Toxic Emissions from Power Plants
This month, the ATS joined the American Lung Association and several other medical and public health organizations in commenting on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed rules for more protective mercury-and-air toxic emissions standards from powerplants. The rules proposed by the EPA will require further emissions reductions from powerplants – namely coal and oil-fired power plants – and will require more accurate and complete monitoring and reporting of community emissions of toxic pollutants.
