Student Scholars at ATS 2018

The Members In Transition and Training Committee (MITT) at ATS has accepted more than 80 students to the Student Scholars Program at the ATS 2018 International Conference.

The 2018 Student Scholars Program is a unique opportunity for a select group of motivated medical, graduate, and nursing students to attend ATS 2018.

In addition to providing students with specific, curated opportunities for exposure to the exciting scientific, translational, and clinical information presented at the conference, the Student Scholars Program aims to offer a compelling series of reasons for students to consider applying to an adult or pediatric pulmonary, critical care, and sleep fellowship program after their residency. As such, Student Scholars will get one-on-one mentoring to help them get the most out of the International Conference.  Students interested in learning more about pulmonary, critical care, or sleep medicine will also have access to career development resources. In addition, students will have the opportunity to learn about cutting edge science, and continuing professional education.

"As a graduate student and aspiring lung scientist attending ATS, I am especially looking forward to the Student Scholars Program, which is providing me with various resources on navigating and making the most of the huge conference, including networking opportunities with mentors and educational sessions specifically tailored to my current stage of training," said Kevin Ni, a 2018 Student Scholar.

To complete the ATS Student Scholar Program, participants must attend the events outlined on their Student Scholar schedule, which will help them to navigate the conference itself, and also provide them time to network with one another, as well as with their mentors. They must also complete pre-and post-conference evaluations as part of the Program.
