As you saw in last month’s Staff Spotlight video, the ATS is dedicated to the lifelong learning and practice-improvement of the pulmonary, critical care and sleep community. The ATS offers many products and programs designed to help foster learning throughout the stages of a professional career.
Each year at the ATS International Conference, the ATS offers educational programs geared toward early career professionals, including residents and fellows. The Student Scholars Program engages future members as medical students, graduate students, and nursing students by facilitating their trip to, and time at, the conference.
Not focused just on early career professionals however, the Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians, and as such CME and nursing CME credits are available at the conference for attendees. Full-conference attendees also have the opportunity to earn ABIM and ABP Maintenance of Certification (MOC) points by attending selected symposia during the conference. MOC eligible symposia cover a range of adult and pediatric pulmonary, critical care, and sleep topics. More information on specific sessions will be available soon. If you are an educator, look out for the Road Map for Medical Educators, also coming soon.
