2020 ATS Fellows Announced

Congratulations to the 2020 class of ATS Fellows, recently announced on the ATS website!

With recognition at the ATS International Conference, on the ATS website, and in member publications, the ATS Fellow designation is a mark of distinction, honoring members for their accomplishments, dedication, and contributions to the Society, as well as to the fields of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. Special Opportunities for Early Career Professionals Now Open

Student Scholars Program -an opportunity for a select group of motivated students to attend ATS 2020. Learn more and apply.

Fellows Track Symposium - provides fellows (adult and pediatric) with an orientation to the sessions most relevant to them at ATS 2020. Learn more and apply.

New Faculty Boot Camp - a two-day course specifically designed for trainees and early faculty members transitioning to academic positions in pulmonary, critical care, or sleep research and education. Learn more and apply.

Pediatric Resident Development Scholarship - designed to introduce pediatric residents to clinical and research advances in respiratory diseases that affect infants, children, and adolescents at the ATS International Conference.  Learn more and apply.

Minority Trainee Development Scholarship– designed to increase representation of underrepresented groups, as defined by the NIH, in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine research. Learn more and apply now.

Assembly Apprenticeship Programs Accepting Applications!

The ATS Assembly Apprenticeship Programs are designed to provide early career assembly members with an opportunity to get a "behind the scenes" look at the operations of the Planning and Program Committees. Under the mentorship of a committee member, apprentices will develop skills for evaluation of abstracts, and the development of committee projects, and may even be able to graduate into full committee membership in the year following apprenticeship.

Currently, 12 ATS Assemblies are offering Apprenticeship Programs:

Allergy, Immunology & Inflammation (AII)
Behavioral Science and Health Services Research (BSHSR)
Clinical Problems (CP)
Critical Care (CC)
Environmental, Occupational and Population Health (EOPH)

Asthma Modules Available – CME Provided by the ATS!

There’s still time to increase your knowledge about asthma and severe asthma and gain up to four CME credits!

The American Thoracic Society and the American Academy of Family Physicians have partnered to bring you a four-module online education program that spans proper diagnosis of asthma and severe asthma, patient communication strategies to increase treatment adherence and maintain control, evidence- based and case-based planning for diagnosis and treatment and lastly, an overview of the current clinical trial data on the safety and efficacy of existing targeted therapies.

Funded by educational grant support from GSK and AstraZeneca.

The American Thoracic Society is accepting submissions to ATS Scholar, its fourth journal, led by Nitin Seam, MD, the new editor-in-chief.
