FIRS World TB Day
In support of World TB Day, March 24, the Forum of International Respiratory Societies urges action on five united strategies to ensure that the aim of ending tuberculosis by 2030 becomes achievable, despite new and emerging challenges. TB is preventable and curable, yet it remains one of the world’s most pressing public health challenges and one of the five chronic conditions that most contributes to the global burden of respiratory diseases. Find out how you can help.
TB Advocacy in Action
The ATS advocates for members and patients on all levels of the federal government. From the Administration, Congress, and the Courts, the Society is actively advocating on behalf of physicians, scientists, and health professionals of the ATS. This week, ATS member Jeff Starke, MD, will be participating in the “TB Survivors Hill Day” with nearly 20 former tuberculosis patients from around the country, telling their personal stories about surviving TB. ATS member Robert Belknap, MD, will be speaking at the House of Representatives World TB Day congressional briefing on March 24.
