Congratulations Jesse Roman, MD, ATS Treasurer 2022 – 2025!
Jesse Roman, MD, has been voted ATS Treasurer for the 2022 – 2025 term. The position of Treasurer is critical for the ATS, as this individual will spend three years providing guidance, oversight and reporting of the Society’s finances. Dr. Roman is the first to hold this position.
Dr. Roman has been a member of the ATS since 1988, and he is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, having served as a founding leader of the Health Equity Subcommittee within the Health Equity and Diversity Committee. He is currently with Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, Pa, where he serves as the Ludwig Kind Professor of Medicine; enterprise division chief, Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine; and director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr. Roman also serves as CEO of the Jane & Leonard Korman Respiratory Institute of Jefferson Health and National Jewish Health.
As Treasurer, Dr. Roman intends to identify new sources for revenue generation to ensure that ATS assets are sustained and grown, to fund advancement in ATS philanthropic efforts by enhancing the work of the Funds for the Future Committee, and to support engagement in novel recruitment initiatives for new membership from around the world. He also hopes to secure new resources to support improving awareness about respiratory disease.
The new ATS Treasurer position is part of the ATS commitment to growth and improvement. Read more about the governance task force recommendations, and see the notification of proposed changes to the Bylaws.

New Trials Listed on ATS Clinical Trial Resources Site
Two new trials by Sanofi have listed on the ATS Clinical Trial Resources page and are currently recruiting!
ATLAS (NCT05097287) is a double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group, multicenter, study designed to evaluate the role of dupilumab in preventing or slowing LFD over a period of three years versus standard of care therapy.
The goal of the phase 4, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled VESTIGE study (NCT04400318) is to assess dupilumab's effect on lung function and structural airway changes using functional respiratory imaging (FRI), a novel technology using high-resolution CT (HRCT) scans to produce 3D visualizations and quantify airway structure and function.
Please visit the ATS Clinical Trial Resources page to connect to current, ongoing clinical trials in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine being conducted by participating pharmaceutical and device companies.
