ATS Fellow Applications Now Accepted!
We are now accepting applications for the 3rd year of the ATS Fellows program - ATSF. The ATS Fellow designation is a mark of distinction that recognizes the accomplishments, dedication, and contributions of ATS members to the Society and the fields of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
If you have been an ATS member for five or more years, consider applying. Applicants must complete an application and submit two letters of reference in addition to a personal statement. Learn more.

Spots Still Available: Educational Consulting at ATS 2019
The Educational Consulting Service provides coaching, mentoring, and consulting to all members of the ATS community to improve the content and delivery of a wide range of educational sessions.
If you are looking for tips, feedback, or advice for presentations at ATS 2019, or even proposals for ATS 2020, the Educational Consulting Service can help. Consultants have open office hours at the Center for Career Development (Hall B, Level 2) on Sunday, May 19 between 9 a.m. and 11 am. If you can’t make that time, you can also sign up to request a one-on-one coaching session. You will be matched with a consultant who will contact you to arrange a meeting onsite.
When: 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. CST, May 19, 2019 or by appointment.

Join the Walking Challenge at ATS 2019!
The ATS Walking Challenge, supported by Mylan, is back as part of the ATS 2019 International Conference. Walk, stay active, and compete with colleagues all while helping the ATS Foundation Research Program!
For every participant who walks 30,000 steps during ATS 2019, Mylan will make a donation of $100 to the ATS Foundation, up to $50,000. The top three overall steppers will win a prize, as well as three randomly selected participants who reach the 30,000-step goal.
You can register onsite at the ATS Walking Challenge Booth located in Lobby D, level 2 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

Joint Clinician-Educators’ Forum at ATS 2019
The American Thoracic Society (ATS), the Association of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program Directors (APCCMPD) and the Pediatric Pulmonary Training Directors Association (PEPTDA) will host a joint Clinician-Educators’ Forum at the ATS 2019 International Conference again this year. The session will feature discussions on best practices in teaching and strategies for improving education in a variety of settings, as well as the presentation of the 2019 Innovations in Fellowship Education Award. Ren Ashton, MD, and May Lee, MD, ATSF, will chair the forum. Registration is required, and the fee is $25.
Topics will include:
- Writing and reading letters of reference.
- Using simulation to teach end-of-life communication.
- Development of a multidisciplinary assessment tool for focused cardiac ultrasound.
- Cultivating a growth mindset.
