ATS and CHEST Launch “For My Lung Health” to Address COVID-19 Disparities

The American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians have created formylunghealth.com, where chronic lung disease patients can get the expert information they need, in both English and Spanish, to prioritize their lung health.
Especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic, patient education is crucial. The campaign is targeted at the top 50 zip codes in the United States for cases of COVID-19, by which people of color were disproportionately affected.

The website provides disease-specific information on many chronic lung diseases and COVID-19, provided by the ATS Public Advisory Roundtable. Despite the spread of COVID-19, patients should not dismiss early symptoms out of fear of contracting the virus, but should contact their provider and utilize telehealth services.

This important effort was generously funded by an educational grant by GlaxoSmithKline and a donation from Boehringer Ingelheim, both as part of the ATS COVID-19 Crisis Fund.
