October 2016
The ATS Nursing Assembly has partnered with several patient groups to conduct a patient survey regarding the provision of supplemental oxygen to patients with respiratory disease. Since the implementation of the CMS Competitive Bidding program, patients and providers have noted an increase in problems related to supplemental oxygen, including patient education, appropriate portable oxygen systems, oxygen supplies (cannulas, tubing, etc.), and proper servicing of oxygen systems.
The purpose of the survey is to provide reliable information that documents the scope and variety of problems that exist for patients receiving supplemental oxygen. Data from this survey will be used develop strategies to improve standards for patients, clinicians, oxygen suppliers, and payers.
The survey takes about 15-20 minutes to complete and can be accessed: HERE
The survey will close Friday, Oct. 14.
