ATS Supports Rule to Reduce Methane Emissions
February 2017
This week, the ATS joined other medical and public health organizations in a letter to the House of Representatives urging them to vote "no" on a vote to block the Bureau of Land Management rule to reduce methane emissions from oil and natural gas operations. The letter notes that methane emissions contribute to ozone air pollution and is a powerful greenhouse gas.
Despite the ATS letter, the House passed to block the methane rule. The legislation now goes to the Senate and may be voted on next week.
