ATS Joins Comments Opposing Clean Power Plan Repeal

This week, the ATS joined several medical and public health groups in joint comments to the EPA, urging the agency to reconsider its proposal to repeal the Clean Power Plan.  The Clean Power Plan is the policy issued during the Obama Administration to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases from our nation’s power plants and other industrial facilities.

The comments focused on the immediate and long-term adverse health effects that climate change is having on patient health in the U.S. The comments also noted that reducing greenhouse gas emissions will also result in significant reductions in other air pollutants, yielding significant and immediate health co-benefits for addressing climate change.
