ATS Recommends More Protective PM Standard

This week, in comments to EPA, the ATS recommended that EPA consider a more protective annual PM2.5 standard of 8 ug/m3. This recommendation was made as part of the ATS comments on EPA draft policy assessment for revising the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for particulate matter pollution. In the comments, the ATS noted that several high-quality studies had documented adverse human health effects from PM exposure to levels below the current standard of 12 ug/m3, and recommended EPA adopt a more protective standard of 8 ug/m3.
