ATS Testifies Before House Appropriation Committee on FY20 EPA Funding
This week, ATS member Kevin Cromar, PhD, testified before the House Interior/Environment Appropriations Subcommittee regarding the ATS’s support for clean air science and enforcement programs at the Environmental Protection Agency. Dr. Cromar noted the importance that EPA science programs play in understanding the health effects of air pollution and the significant benefits that the EPA enforcement program has His testimony emphasized the need for the EPA to respond to air pollution from wildfires. Dr. Cromar pointed out the growth of wildfire air pollution emissions and noted that the EPA is currently poorly equipped to respond to the scientific questions and regulatory challenges caused by the emissions.
