Senate Panel Provides Funding Increase for Global TB Program

The Senate State Department and Foreign Operations appropriations subcommittee also released the FY2020 spending bill for the State Department and Agency for International Development (USAID). The bill provides an $8 million, or about 2.4 percent funding increase for USAID’s global TB program for total proposed funding of $310 million for the program in FY2020. This funding level is consistent with the House State-Foreign Operations bill, which also passed the House in July. We expect this funding increase for USAID’s global TB program to move forward to enactment when FY2020 spending is finalized later this year.
