ATS and Sister Organizations Urge Continued Commitment to Social Distancing

The ATS joined AACN, CHEST and SCCM in issuing a joint statement to policy-makers urging continued commitment to social distancing as the most effective way the public can help fight COVID-19.

"While staying at home and distancing yourself from others may feel passive, it is the most active step the American public can take to fight the epidemic," said James M. Beck, MD, President of the ATS. The ATS also joined a coalition letter, led by the Council of Medical Specialities, calling on federal, state, and local officials to maintain social distancing measures to disrupt the transmission of COVID-19 in the U.S.
