ATS Joins Letter Seeking Climate Change Funding
This week, the ATS joined nearly 20 medical and public health organizations in a letter to Congress urging them to provide $15 million for the CDC’s climate change programs. The letter notes that the CDC Climate and Health Program is the only federal program that provides aide and technical guidance to help states, cities, territories and tribes prepare for and respond to the specific health impacts of climate change. The House of Representatives provided level funding of $15 million for the program while the Senate zeroed out the program. The letter urges Congress to adopt the House funding level in the final appropriations bill.
