ATS Joins Patient Organizations Requesting CMS Waiver for In-Person Oxygen Certification/Re-certification
This week, the ATS joined several patient organizations in a request that CMS provide a waiver to modify the certification and recertification requirements for Home Use of Oxygen (NCD 240.2) during the current COVID-19 emergency, at least through July 15, 2020. The letter also requested that CMS modify the requirement of proof of delivery for billing purposes, at least through July 15, 2020. These waivers are needed to ensure medically vulnerable patients can continue to receive supplement oxygen services while practicing appropriate social distancing.
