FDA Delays Graphic Warning Label Deadline By 120 Days

Citing COVID-19 related challenges, the FDA, with federal court permission, has granted the tobacco industry an additional 120 days to comply with requirements for graphic warning label requirements on tobacco products. Graphic warning labels will now be required on cigarette packages starting Oct. 16, 2021, a delay from the original deadline of June 18, 2021. Current FDA rules require only text warnings. The new labeling requirements will include both text and graphic warning images.
