House Passes Comprehensive Tobacco Control Bill

The House of Representatives passed the Reversing the Youth Tobacco Epidemic Act along largely partisan lines. The bill takes several important steps to reduce youth nicotine use including:

  • Banning all flavored tobacco
  • Implementing a federal excise tax on e-cigarette and vape products
  • Banning most online sales of tobacco products
  • Requiring graphic warning for e-cigarette and vape products.

The ATS strongly supports this bill and joined several coalition letters in support of the bill. Attention now pivots to the Senate where parallel legislation has been introduced.
