Congress Bans Mailing of E-Cigarette/Subjects E-Cigarettes to Federal Excise Taxes

As part of the recently enacted COVID-19 relief package, Congress included text of the Preventing Online Sales of E-Cigarettes to Children Act which takes several actions to reduce the sales of e-cigarettes, including;

  • Subjecting e-cigarette sales to federal excise taxes
  • Banning the internet sales of e-cigarettes to people under 21
  • Directing the U.S. postal service to issue regulations banning the email of e-cigarette products.
