Senate Appropriations Passes FY22 Agriculture/FDA Bill
In related activity, the Senate Appropriations Committee also passed the FY22 Agriculture/FDA appropriations bill. The bill included puzzling guidance from the Senate to the FDA Center for Tobacco Products regarding tobacco regulation. The report language appears to urge the Agency to take a lenient position on the regulation of “premium cigars,” while also encouraging the FDA to aggressively regulate e-cigarettes.
