ATS Holds Virtual Hill Day

This week, the American Thoracic Society participated in virtual meetings with House and Senate Congressional staff. More than 20 meetings were held to discuss issues of importance to the ATS, including recommendations for fiscal year 2023 appropriations for the National Institutes of Health and public health programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in addition to a request for co-sponsorships of the Comprehensive TB Elimination Act.

ATS members also addressed the impact of the pandemic on patient care, workforce, and medical research, offering compelling first-hand stories.

The Washington Office staff appreciates the efforts of the ATS members who participated in the virtual Capitol Hill meetings.
