ATS Urges Biden Administration to Issue Updated Regulation on Heavy Diesel Engines
This week, ATS staff met with White House/Office of Management and Budget Officials to urge the Administration to issue updated emissions regulations for heavy diesel engines – including semi-trucks. The Biden Administration signaled its intent to issue new proposed rules in the near future. In the meeting, the ATS noted that heavy diesel engines are a large source of all roadway emissions and that diesel engines are a disproportionate share of near-road air pollution exposures for minority and low-income communities.
