Court Temporarily Blocks FDA’s Action to Remove Juul from U.S. Market

This week, a federal judged issued a temporary injunction blocking implementation of the FDA’s decision to remove all Juul e-cigarette products from the U.S. marketplace. Juul sought a court injunction after the Agency’s decision earlier this month to reject Juul’s pre-market tobacco product application over safety data concerns and called for removing all of the company’s products from the U.S. market.

The stay, issued by the D.C. District Court of Appeals will extend at least until July 12 and will give Juul time to present its legal challenge to the FDA decision.
