The American Thoracic Society Urges Passage of Fiscal Year 2022 Appropriations
In related news, the ATS led a community-wide sign-on letter from the medical and public health organizations that support NHLBI and NIEHS, urging Congress to move forward with completing FY22 appropriations bills. The letters urge members to complete and pass the fiscal year 2022 appropriations bill for the National Institutes of Health as well as the National Health, Lung and Blood Institute and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and note the myriad challenges to research caused by the Congressional impasse.
The NHLBI Constituency Group is advocating for at least $3.94 billion for the NHLBI. The Friends of NIEHS is advocating for $888.7 million for the NIEHS.
