White House Releases Nearly $1 Billion in Funds for Electric School Buses

This week, the EPA released nearly $1 billion in funds from the bipartisan infrastructure law to help local school districts replace existing diesel school buses with new electric school buses. The EPA funding will offset the purchase of 2,463 school buses, with 95 percent of those buses being electric. The EPA funding will support school bus purchases in all 50 states, DC and several federally-recognized tribes and U.S. territories. Funding was targeted to school districts serving rural or low-income communities.
